Abby Louise Woodman

photo of a person

Abby is a historian specialising in early-modern European art and court politics. Her current research focus concerns sapphic love and the concept of the ‘Romantic Friendship’, women's networks in early modern Europe, and the life of ‘Minette’, Henriette-Anne, Duchesse de Orleans and is currently working on a PhD proposal. They founded and now run an online historical education initiative called ‘The HERstory Project’, a collaborative and accessible place to promote underrepresented histories and historians. As well as being a Vulvateer Abby works at Royal Museums Greenwich and volunteers at the National Portrait Gallery as they’re somewhat of a museum/history addict.
